Author, traveller and seed saviour to give talk

Guest speaker Barbara Lawrence's book, Seed is Life will be the focus of her discussion this Sunday.

Author Barbara Lawrence-Strydom will be revisiting her roots as a guest speaker at the Farming Organic Food Festival at Secret Sithela in Munster this Sunday, September 3.

Barbara was raised on a farm in Nqabeni, and fondly remembers attending Langalibalele Indian Primary School in the early 80s where her love for reading and fondest organic food growing memories were embedded.
She matriculated from Harding Senior Secondary School, graduated with a BCom and further went on to be a bank manager, capacity builder and storyteller.

Barbara has contributed to many anthologies and recently published: Trilogy: Waste Knot, The Power of Hemp and Seed is Life, and is founder of the Master Dreamer programme.

Barbara’s book Seed is Life will be the focus of her discussion with snippets of her adventures as a volunteer driver on a Southern tip of Africa to Giza Pyramids trip, including a 40-day Cape to Cairo road trip. She also climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in 2018.

Barbara and the founder of the festival, Jeanne-Louise Kinsey share a common vision and passion for sustainable living and hope to make this event a transformative, holistic knowledge and skills transferrable space.
Jeanne-Louise has developed expansive herb, vegetable and indigenous sections of the gardens and manifested her dream of creating a flourishing food forest.

Everyone is welcome to attend the festival which turns three, which will have a variety of stallholders with organic and homemade produce and garden products.

Interesting talks throughout the day about farming and preparing food in a way that is healthy for everyone and sustainable for the natural world.
