Thousands raised for children in need

Some much-needed funds were raised for District 49 Home of Safety and Naidooville Primary School in Craigieburn.

A grand total of R22 300 was raised for charity at a very successful Women’s Day Zumba Fit morning fundraiser in Scottburgh recently.

The event was hosted by Ultimate Dance Fitness (UDF) and was supported by over 100 women who had fun, kept fit and brought in much-needed funds for District 49 Home of Safety and Naidooville Primary School in Craigieburn.

This year’s fundraiser outdid last year’s amount of R20 000.

A cheque handover was last week which left the recipients at a loss for words.
Pravashnie Thevan, the chairperson of District 49 said that these funds will definitely go to good use.

“I am eternally grateful for this donation and cannot say thank you enough,” she said.

Robert Ramiah principal of Naidooville Primary School said that he appreciates the amount of effort put into this fundraiser by UDF and all the supporters.

“It was amazing to see how many people got together for one purpose, and that was to help children in need,” he said.

UDF’s Zumba instructor Shereen Paul also thanked her team for the outstanding work at this year’s fundraiser.
