Series of weekend accidents leave four injured

Emergency services had a fairly busy weekend.

It’s been a weekend of accidents on the South Coast, with two occurring on Marine Drive in Shelly Beach.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service (KZPA) responded to reports of a collision in Marine Drive, Shelly Beach early on Saturday morning.

Chantell Botha of KZPA said that when emergency services arrived, they found that two vehicles had been involved in the collision, causing one of the vehicles to overturn.

Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one person had sustained minor injuries.

In a separate incident, Glen Preston of Med-Evac reported that a vehicle had overturned in Marine Drive, in Shelly Beach on Saturday evening.

“The driver in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and refused emergency medical assistance. He apparently swerved and braked to avoid a dog.”

KZPA also responded to an accident in Marine Drive, Ramsgate on Sunday evening.

Botha said that when emergency services arrived, they found that three vehicles had been involved in a collision.

Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one person had sustained serious injuries, and a further two people had sustained minor injuries.

They were treated on scene before being transported to the hospital.
