KwaCele woman assisted by police

More will be done to help the woman in the coming months.

South Africans annually honour former president and activist, Nelson Mandela on July 18 by being of service to the public and making a positive change in the community.

The Scottburgh Saps commemorated this day and went forth with the vision of being of service to others when police assisted a KwaCele woman who faced poor living conditions on a daily basis and desperately needed intervention.

“Members rallied together to assist her with food parcels, blankets, a stove, clothing, crockery and toiletries,” said Captain Adam Francis, Scottburgh Saps communications officer.

“The housing structure made of mud and tin was temporarily fixed by police, just before another cold front approached.”

There is also an initiative in place to further assist the woman during the coming months to help improve her home situation.

Scottburgh’s station commander, Colonel Ralph Ruiters, thanked everyone who assisted to make the life of the recipient more comfortable on this special day.
