Join walk to help save Kaya’s vision

The walk is at Renishaw Forest this Saturday.

Little Kaya Barker (3) was born with a brainstem malformation, Pontine Tegmental Cap Dysplasia, which impacts every aspect of her life, including hearing, breathing, sleep, and mobility.

Another area that is impacted is vision, and without nerve transplant surgery, she will lose her sight.

Her mother Andrea grew up in Scottburgh where her family still resides. Andrea now lives with her husband, Davyn, and their two girls, in Ireland.

In an effort to save Kaya’s vision, the family is calling on locals to join in a #5kforkaya fundraiser walk to raise money for the medical costs and create awareness.

The walk is at Renishaw Forest this Saturday. Participants will meet at the Renishaw Village Café and sign up is at 08:30.
