Lion Ladies give back this winter

The Lions are greatly involved in uplifting the well-being of the community.

The Port Shepstone Lions Ladies have provided some warmth this winter to many needing a blanket, a warm plate of homemade food or cup of soup.

Recently, they donated some 100 blankets and 150 cups of soup to South Coast Hospice.

The soup project is going into its second month, and is greatly appreciated by hospice as it feeds many patients on various hospice programmes which are: Home based care where 72 patients are cared for in their homes, the In-patient Unit, the Mental Stepdown Betania Wellness home, and the adherence programme patients who require nourishment when taking their medicines.

Di van Dyk, CEO of hospice, said the soup and blankets will bring much comfort to the vulnerable patients.

“Hospice appreciates all the hard work that the Lady Lions do in our community.”

The Lions Ladies are always hard at work, they also make some 120 meals for the residents of the Flower Foundation once a month.

If anyone would like to get involved or donate towards the wonderful work these women do, contact Jane Massey on 083 4985473.
