Medical fund for urgent dialysis treatment for Alvis

The family has humbly requested the assistance of the public and any other benefactors to kindly consider making donations of any amount to the fund as follows.

Alvis Govender (54) of Marburg is in need of urgent dialysis treatment and a medical fund has been established to assist him.

He was admitted to Port Shepstone Regional Hospital in January with end stage renal failure (stage 5).

He is in need of urgent dialysis treatment but has no private medical aid.

Thus, the Alvis Medical Fund has been formally constituted, with trustees appointed and a bank account opened to assist him.

Despite a medical history of chronic illnesses including hypertension, type 2 diabetes, acute coronary syndrome and dyslipidemia, he was still unfortunately denied admission to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital on the basis that he did not meet the criteria for dialysis. He was subsequently discharged.

Due to his health deteriorating, he is no longer able to work and being the only breadwinner, life has become more difficult.

Nevertheless, his determination and courage to overcome this has resulted in family members and friends rallying and coming together to provide assistance so that he gets the required specialist treatment.

Family members and friends concerned have already met most of the costs, such as consultations with a specialist physician nephrologist, inserting of a permanent catheter port, and many private dialysis sessions.

Due to the permanent nature of this very expensive treatment with dialysis sessions done on a regular basis, it has put enormous financial constraints and stress on the family.

The family has humbly requested the assistance of the public and any other benefactors to kindly consider making donations of any amount to the fund as follows:

Alvis Medical Fund, Nedbank, Account number 2068601931, branch code 13982800, type club.
