The South Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) in partnership with the Rotary Club of Port Shepstone hosted a Business in Sports lunch at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre last Friday.

SCCCI vice-chairperson, Reshma Maharaj said sports in business is ‘big’ business. She said the focus is networking with the right partners or investors.

“We hope that this initiative will create many opportunities locally. We applaud the transformation committee for a successful launch and we look forward to working with them.”

“This partnership will help us grow and maintain our sports centre which over the years started to become a ‘white elephant’. Recently we had some maintenance done on the sports field which was built for the 2010 Soccer World Cup.”
