SA Surf Champs: Cape Town surfer wows judges at St Mike’s with 9.88 score [Day 1]

Cape Town surfer, Paul Sampson has blown everyone away by his superb performance today on Day 1 of Tidy Towns SA Surfing Champs.

It’s been a cracker of a day for surfing at St Mike’s Beach today.

Good conditions have lead for an exceptionally good Day 1 at the Tidy Towns SA Surfing Championships.

An epic performance (and the highlight of the day by far) was by Cape Town surfer Paul Sampson score of a 9.88 in his opening round.

Sampson has been a part of the SSA Development programs since the age of 10.

Surfing South Africa said his talent shined bright from his junior surfing days where he was originally supported by Surf Shack Surf and Outreach in Muizenberg.

Thanks to support from local surfing district, Cape Town Surfriders, Paul has progressed over the years and honed his skills by being given the opportunity to compete in various SSA sanctioned events.

“We are excited to see this young man inspire a future generation of surfers in his local surfing community,” said Surfing SA.
