Art by the Sea announces exciting new activities

This prestigious club boasts a proud history of exceptional art on the South Coast for over 50 years.

Local art club Art by the Sea released details of its planned activities for the next couple of months. Full details are available on their Facebook page Art by the Sea South Africa.

In May, members will be treated to a plethora of skills on figure studies, covering aspects like basic figure drawing, hands and feet, drawing fabric folds and pleats, tonal values and also painting figures in artworks.

This will be followed in June on how to depict movement in paintings and sketches, with social painting sessions emphasising movement of objects and animals like cars and horses, and figures like athletes and surfers.

There will also be an interesting session on stained glass windows and a demonstration on how to paint a picture as if it is a stained glass design.
Member artists are already seriously busy preparing for their Annual Exhibition in August. As in the past, it promises to be an event not to be missed on the social calendar of the region.

Paintings of member artists found forever homes all over the country and abroad. Art activity sessions take place at the Margate Art Museum every Tuesday morning from 09:00 to 11:00. They are open to all artists.

Painting in a style replicating a stained glass window, is on the cards at the weekly art sessions of Art by the Sea.
