Singer’s new single speaks of hope

Kerry B, who is formerly from Port Edward, said she would love to come to the South Coast to a do a few performances.

Formerly of Port Edward, Kerry Botha (35), who is popularly known as ‘Kerry B’ is making waves with her music in Gauteng.

Initially, Kerry studied beauty therapy, however it did not work out as planned.
She said after the Covid pandemic hit the country, it personally hit her very hard, and from there she could only get up, dust herself and face reality.

“I live near a river and mountains so during Covid when we were not allowed to go anywhere, I escaped and went in the bushes and just sang till someone heard me and that’s how I was discovered.”

She said from then on people encouraged her to sing more, and write her own music.
Kerry said her first performance was not good and in her own words she said, ‘I sucked’ because she had no experience of what she was doing.

“I’ve had some bad performances but I have learnt from each and every one of them.”

She has now signed a year long contract with Starburst Promotions and has released a new single, ‘Did it mean nothing’ and a music video that is sure to make waves in the music industry.

The song speaks of pain and frustration but also of hope, as it encourages listeners to move on to bigger and better things, and not to allow the little things in life to get them down.

Kerry attended Port Edward and Margate Primary schools, and she then moved with her family to Gauteng.
A little-known fact about Kerry is that she has synaesthesia, a neurological condition that causes people to experience things through their senses in an unusual way, for example experiencing colours as sound or a number as a position in space.

In Kerry’s case, she can see music.

Kerry Botha popularly known as ‘Kerry B’ has released a single.
