Elsie Pretorius back at kennel club helm

HKC is situated on the Port Shepstone Borough Ground in Quarry Road.

In Africa rain is seen as a blessing and the Hibiscus Kennel Club was abundantly blessed with torrential rain last Sunday, to the point of the Open Show having to be cancelled.

Thank you to the judges, Heather Moorcroft and Tanya Engelbrecht who tried to be positive but by 08:30 it was decided that the field was too wet for both dogs and handlers.

The flyball, teams judged by Renate Haussmann, started at 07:00 and pushed through.
HKC has a new committee this year, including members who thought they had their T-shirts and been there, done that. Thank you Elsie Pretorius for being willing to take up the baton, once again. For many, HKC is ‘home’ and a ‘happy place’.

Thank you to those who offered their services and thank you to the outgoing committee members for all their hard work, especially for the sterling work repairing the clubhouse that was flooded in April last year.
HKC is a social club, welcoming those who want no more than an afternoon with like-minded people and their dogs, as well as those who are competitive and are striving to achieve great things.

To achieve this, Saturday afternoon is club day and everyone is welcome to take part in all the activities on offer. There is puppy class, beginner and advanced classes in obedience, agility and hoopers, starting at 14:00, followed by advanced classes at 15:15.
HKC is situated on the Port Shepstone Borough Ground in Quarry Road. For more information, contact Elsie Pretorius on 084 3114859 or director of training Elsie McKillen 073 1933468.
