#PowerToThePeople March: Democratic Alliance to protest against 18.65% electricity tariff increase this Wednesday

The DA will be protesting at various places from Hibberdene to Port Edward on Wednesday, January 25 starting from midday onwards.

On Wednesday 25 January, the DA along with thousands of South Africans, will march to Luthuli house to say enough is enough.

On the KZN South Coast, you can join the #PowerToThePeople march at the following places:

  • 12:00 to 12:30: Hibberdene, main traffic lights
  • 13:00 to 13:30: Port Shepstone, Oribi Plaza traffic lights
  • 14:00 to 14:30: Shelly Beach at Shelly Centre
  • 15:00 to 15:30: Margate, Margate police station
  • 15:45 to 16:00: Port Edward, main traffic lights

DA Leader, John Steenhuisen MP and DA Shadow Minister of Public Service and Administration, Dr Leon Schreiber MP, will be at the North Gauteng High Court where the DA will argue that the abolishment of cadre deployment is a fundamental prerequisite if we ever want to end loadshedding and halt the collapse of state institutions.

The DA believes that this case is urgent and the single most important court case for rebuilding state capacity in South Africa’s democratic history.
