Paddock man who stabbed teen to death sentenced to 20 years behind bars

Warrant Officer Michael Msizazwe played a key role in bringing the murderer to justice.

Hardened criminal Sibusiso Ndovela was sentenced in the Ezinqoleni Magistrate’s Court to 20 years’ jail time for the murder of a 19-year old man.

After making a number of court appearances he has finally been found guilty and sentenced to the jail time.

He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

Ndovela will still need to appear in court, where he faces separate charges of common robbery, assault grievous bodily harm and robbery.

Ndovela stabbed the teenager in the abdomen at a tavern in Bhomela, Paddock on December 26 in 2017.

The teen was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries.

A murder case was opened for investigation and assigned to Warrant Officer Michael Msizazwe, who wasted no time in locating Ndovela.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said as soon as Ndovela realised police were on to him, he fled to Shoshanguve in Pretoria.

It was futile and he was traced and arrested by Ugu District Operational Commander Centre detective members on February 19, 2018.

Acting Ugu District Commissioner Brigadier Bongani Sibiya said he was pleased with the outcome of the case and that a brazen criminal had been removed society.
