Newborn baby girl found abandoned on electrical box in Margate

Netcare 911 paramedics came to the rescue of the newly born baby girl.

A newborn baby was found on an electrical box outside Child Welfare in Margate today at 06:00.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said bystanders alerted the police who then called the team from Netcare 911.

Tanya Grobler of Netcare 911 ensuring the baby is kept warm.

“The baby was assessed, the umbilical cord was cut off and she was also kept warm,” he said.

The little girl is in a stable condition and was taken to Port Shepstone Regional Hospital for further care.
