Recovery organisation creates employment

Help is at hand for drug and alcohol addicts.

Laqakhaza Iphara Recovery is a well-known non-profit organisation on the mid-South Coast that strives to give back to the community when it can.

This time around, there are career opportunities for the public. According to chairperson Emmanuel Msomi, the organisation now wants to teach people how to become recovery coaches and addiction counsellors – at no cost.

“They will have an opportunity to work for our organisation and earn an honest living,” he said.

“These will be skills they can use across the globe.”

Msomi added that those interested can even work online, so long as they have a smartphone, laptop and internet access.

“We are here for everyone who wishes to have a recovery support group in the community as well as in the CBD, and we can teach them how to facilitate support and help the group to be well-known and recognised internationally so it will get necessary support.”

Laqakhaza Iphara Recovery offers three types of support groups: Alcoholics Fellowship, Non-addicts Support Group and Addiction Support Group.

Word is spread about this organisation’s life-changing work through awareness campaigns in schools, community centres, businesses and other NPOs. The recovery organisation also offers support group facilitation training, addiction cancelling sessions and rehabilitation to those who need it at affordable prices.

“To everyone who comes from rehab, they know they are powerless over drugs and alcohol, so abstinence is the only solution.”

“As we step into the new year, to those who have addicts at home, please do not give them alcohol or drugs and say it is just for New Year celebrations, because they won’t be able to stop after.”

Msomi also said that those who have been in recovery for a long time must remember to stay focussed in the new year and to be an example to society of just how well recovery can work for you when you want it to.

“Be the change you want to see and have a happy and blessed 2023.”
