Suspended phone line frustrates business owner

Its been over a year since telkom disconnected The Paint Pot landlines and are still failing to reconnect them

A local business, Paint Pot Manaba has had ongoing problems with its landline telephone since June 2021, making it difficult for its customers to reach it.

This has had a negative effect on the business which has resulted in them having to find an alternative solution.
A sales manager said that she emailed Telkom on numerous occasions to reconnect the telephone line, however was told the line was suspended as the business had an outstanding bill.

She said after phone calls and emails, Telkom did make contact, however failed to resolve the issue. “A call centre agent told us that our account was muddled up and allocated a new account number, however payment was not linked to the new account for the line which was suspended.

“We continued to email and received a response that our line was open. I emailed them to pass a credit for a small amount and the reconnection fees as it was not our fault the line was disconnected,” said the manger.

She said after some time the line was reconnected, but disconnected again which continues to frustrate the business owner. The Herald has also attempted to get comment from Telkom, however none has been received.
