Potholes anger motorists

Potholes and dug up trenches are not getting fixed.

Motorists and residents along Andreasen Street, near Port Shepstone Primary and Deepvale Road in Marburg are calling for swift action from municipal authorities, to repair potholes and dug up trenches.

The poor condition of the roads are a hazard, not only for motorists but pedestrians too.

“On Andreasen Street, a water leak needs to be repaired and the leak is contributing to the pothole problem. Motorists have to dodge the pothole, making navigation difficult and dangerous,” said one resident.

Another motorists said it is frustrating avoiding dug up trenches along Deepvale Road. “Why can’t it be filled the same day? ” he asked.
Ray Nkonyeni Municipality spokesperson Simon April was contacted for comment but none was received at the time of going to press.
