Two trucks narrowly escaped being hijacked on the N2 near Marburg, Port Shepstone on Tuesday this week, thanks to excellent teamwork between various security personnel.
The incident took place at about 23:00 near Marburg, when information about two trucks in the process of being hijacked and shot at was shared on a community group chat.
That’s according to Charnel Hattingh of Fidelity Services Group.
“Our community operations manager immediately responded,” she said.
“Both trucks were met on the N2 and escorted safely back to base by our team.”
She added that, according to the truck drivers, while they were driving along the N2, a white Toyota Tazz with three occupants pulled up from behind and began opening fire on the trucks that were carrying gas.
No damage was done by the firearm rounds and the drivers were unharmed.
“A great display of teamwork between the community, our team and our security partners on the ground resulted in preventing two truck hi-jackings,” concluded Hattingh.
