It was during last night’s routine street patrols on Casuarina Road in Sea Park that Peter Lues, a Lazer 911 Security Response Officer, heard a woman screaming.
The officer followed the screams into the bushes and discovered a man assaulting the woman.
According to a post on the security company’s Whatsapp group, the man was immediately arrested.
“Upon investigating the scene it was discovered that the man tried to rape the woman, but when that failed, he started to assault her,” it read.
Officer Lues received backed-up assistance by Lazer 911 officers Robbie Pypers and Dawid Enslin.
The man was handed to the police for further investigation.
A police statement is awaited.
