Woman shot and injured in Hibberdene house robbery

The intruder took the woman's cellphone and fled.

A visitor to the South Coast was shot during a house robbery in Hibberdene on Wednesday this week. An unknown man entered the property at about 15:00.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said the man initially fled but then returned, coming back into the house, demanding money. After firing a shot which struck the woman, the intruder grabbed the woman’s cellphone and fled.

Hibberdene police are investigating a case of house robbery.

Rudi Prinsloo, of MI7 Ambulance Service, confirmed that they, together with KwaZulu Private Ambulance, attended the scene. The injured woman was treated and taken to hospital.
