Seriously injured motorist only found and treated the next day

It was a busy start to the week for paramedics.

The driver of a vehicle lost control, left the road and stopped in a ditch on the R102 near Umzumbe. According to reports, the collision happened last night and it was only discovered this morning (Monday, November 14).

Chantell Alice Botha of KwaZulu Private Ambulance said paramedics found that the patient had sustained serious injuries.

The patient was treated on scene before being transported to hospital.

The driver and vehicle was only found in Umzumbe this morning (Monday).

Also this morning, a taxi and tractor collided, causing the taxi to overturn on the N2 near Merlewood.

Botha said paramedics found that 12 patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
