Bikers make Margate ‘smile’

The Wing Riders spent a week in Margate for their flagship event this year.

Margate was the seaside town of choice for the Wing Riders 37th annual Wing Fling flagship event this year.

Some 78 members from all over South Africa gather in one place for one week every year to ride their Gold Wings together, have lots of fun and visit with other members who have become friends over the years.

The members had a full week of planned activities in and around the coast. Last Monday they had a mass ride to Shelly Beach and back, and then on the Tuesday the riders had their bikes on show for the public at Margate main beach. On Wednesday they drove out to Oribi Gorge. On Thursday they rode to Durban and to Port Edward on Friday.
