Two sentenced for holding bread delivery driver at gunpoint in Harding

The men were easily identified as they had robbed the driver for a second time.

Two men, Nkanyiso Myalezo Tshapa (20) and Mthobisi Mxolisi Mdleko (23) recently appeared in the Harding Magistrate’s Court and were recently convicted and sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment each. They were also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

A man was delivery bread early on the morning of November 27, 2018 to a tuckshop in Sukhulu ward at KwaMbotho in Harding when he had the firearm aimed at him by the men.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said they took cash and his cellphone and fled. A case of armed robbery was opened at Harding Saps, where-after detectives traced and arrested the men.

They were easily identified as they had robbed the driver for a second time.

Detective Warrant Officer RS Machi presented a well prepared docket which ensured the desired sentence was handed down by the court.
