One hundred rubbish bins were recently donated to Umdoni Municipality by JBC Media Group and Combo Sign.
Mayor Sibongile Khathi received the bins at Scottburgh beach last week and stated that this massive donation will help keep the towns tidy.
The municipality has already begun the bin installation project throughout the Scottburgh and Park Rynie areas.
“Umdoni Municipality is faced with a predicament of illegal signage and these bins will also serve as an outdoor adverting platform to eradicate illegal signage,” added mayor Khathi.
The second phase of installations will cater to Umzinto and thereafter inland areas.
The municipality encourages the public to make use of these bins to dispose of garbage and keep the towns clean. The municipality will empty these bins through its weekly refuse collection schedule.
