Dewald Gouws leads praise and worship in Margate

South Africa's first Afrikaans KykNet Idols winner and gospel artist said he received a 'message' to return to the coast.

Believers and worshippers braved the wet weather, to attend a praise and worship session at the amphitheatre at the Margate beachfront, last Saturday night.

It was organised by Turning Tides evangelists, Mike Colby and Pierre Holtzhausen.

South Africa’s first Afrikaans KykNet Idols winner and gospel artist, Dewald Gouws performed at the event. He said a few months back he received a message in his heart to visit the South Coast and the North Coast after his previous tour ended two weeks too soon due to the first Covid-19 lockdown regulations.

Gouws said his previous visit was a huge disappointment as he had to leave the province overnight, after only visiting three congregations and that is why he chose to return.

“To be honest, I never planned to start in the south, but the Lord interceded and fellow brothers in Christ arranged several meetings starting at the beachfront in Margate, all the way to Richards Bay, and I’m truly blessed with the favour of God,” said Gouws.

He said after this tour, he will be gearing up for the Free State, with another 70 concerts all over South Africa and is humbled by the support of his fellow brothers and sisters, and is deeply touched by the response from his supporters.

“I now realise that one sincere true testimony is sometimes worth more than a thousand sermons. I’m releasing a new single with Rapper ‘Hemelbesem’ soon which may open up doors to a whole new platform.

“My heart’s desire is that everyone who listens to my music may experience the presence of the Holy Spirit, “Gouws concluded.
