Stranded motorist thanks police for assistance

They waited with Maureen Nzimakwe until help arrived.

KwaNzimakwe resident, Maureen Nzimakwe acknowledges two policemen, Warrant Officer Des Theunissen and Sergeant Ashley Ramsingh of the Port Shepstone Saps K9 Unit who assisted her, after her vehicle broke down on Pioneer Road, Ramsgate last Thursday evening.

Nzimakwe said her vehicle had overheated and she had no water. The two officers who were doing patrols in the area came to her aid.

Maureen Nzimakwe is grateful to police officers who came to her aid after her car broke down in Ramsgate last week.

“They offered me some of their drinking water. It helped cool down my car and I was able to continue with my journey, however, a few metres down the road the temperature went up again and I had to stop, luckily the officers had not left.

“They then assisted me and called a tow truck, however, I informed them that I had roadside assistance and would prefer to call them. They waited with me until help arrived, as they felt it was unsafe for me to be on my own.

“Grateful thanks to these officers, I was unharmed and managed to get home safely.”
