New priest for Shree Raam Narayan temple

The priest will be available at the temple to conduct all prayers for the community of Port Shepstone.

The Shree Raam Narayan Temple in Marburg has secured the services of a full-time priest.

The temple‘s president Singh Samsunder welcomed Pundit Peeush Krishna Kumar Mishra who will be the resident priest.

Pundit Peeush will be available at the temple to conduct all prayers for the community of Port Shepstone, and can be contacted on 084 8940605.

The temple will observe Gita Week from Friday, August 12 from 18:00, thereafter 18:30 to 19:30.

Prayer day
The Umbango Sri Siva Soobramonair Alayam (Umbango Temple) invites the community to the Maha Varalakshmi Vratham Prayer (Lakshmi Prayer) this Friday (5th).

It will commence with Hawan at 18:00. Service will be rendered to the divine mother, Lakshmi followed by the tying of strings by Gurukkal.

Angie Govender of the Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Temple invites all to the Maha Lakshmi prayer this Friday.

Devotees who are married and unmarried, ladies and girls who wish to participate in the Kuthu vilakku (lamp) prayer need to bring their own Kuthu vilakku or a lamp and a silver coin .

All other prayer requirements will be given at the temple for a fee of R30.

Contact chairman Kevin Govender on 083 3753876 by Thursday, August 4, if you wish to participate in the prayer. Supper will be served.

Jubilee celebration
Jai Hind Primary School will celebrate its 70th platinum jubilee celebration at Hi Land International Convention Centre at 1 Ravine Lane, Umbango on Saturday, August 13 at 18:00.
