Sand mining proposed along the Umzumbe River

A notice for application for mining permit and environmental authorization has appeared recently in a local newspaper.

The proposed sand mining is along the Umzumbe River on the remainder of Portion 1 of the farm Fairview 15590 in the magisterial district of Port Shepstone, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality.

The proposed mining activity is for river sand will include excavation and hauling from the mining site to the stockpile area.

Landowners, lawful occupants and interested and affected parties are hereby given the opportunity to access more information on the proposed activities and to give comments on the process.
