Three juveniles and an 18-year-old were arrested by the Paddock police on Monday last week. According to reports, police opened a case of armed robbery after two women who were driving from a game reserve in Paddock at about 16:50 were forced to stop their vehicle.
Ugu District police communications department said four males armed with a firearm and knives jumped in front of the vehicle.
“The women were robbed of cellphones and cash. They alerted the game reserve manager, who contacted a security company, and together with Saps Paddock officers, the four boys were arrested.”
A 9mm pistol was recovered, as well as the property belonging to the victims. Three of the four suspects were remanded into the custody of their parents as they are juveniles, while the 18-year-old remains in police custody until they appear in court on charges of armed robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
