Three shot dead execution-style

It is believed that one of the men, aged 44, appeared in court on murder, attempted murder and pointing of a firearm charges.

Police are on the hunt for gunmen who shot dead three people execution-style in Mtwalume shortly after they left the Turton Court last Thursday at about 11:00.

It is believed that one of the men, aged 44, appeared in court on murder, attempted murder and pointing of a firearm charges. It is further believed that he was with three bodyguards at the time.

On the day of his hearing, his case was transferred to Port Shepstone Regional Court and postponed to July 10.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Jay Naicker said it is believed that the driver and his two passengers had just left the local court and were about to enter the main road when they were set upon by the suspects, who were travelling in two vehicles.

“The suspects opened fire on the vehicle, killing all three occupants instantly, before fleeing the scene. It is believed that the deceased were also robbed of their firearms. The motive for the attack remains unclear at this time, and detectives at Hibberdene are probing the triple murder, ” said Naicker.

No arrests have been made as yet.
