A man was shot in the Umkomaas area, near Roseneath, on Monday morning this week.
It is believed that he was in his vehicle at the time of the incident.
After receiving reports, police and local security services rushed to the scene and the victim was taken to hospital.
Circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown at this stage, and official comment is being awaited from Saps.
