Man who stabbed girlfriend to death sentenced

The murder took place in April last year.

Siyabonga Tobias Dlamini (29) was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for murdering his girlfriend, Thando Cele (24).

The murderer stabbed his girlfriend to death in a fit of rage on April 2 last year and then dumped her body in a river in the KwaCele area.

Police responded swiftly, arresting the man and retrieving the woman from the river with the assistance of Saps Search and Rescue unit.
Detective Warrant Officer Njabulo Latha investigated the murder case and brought it to a close when Dlamini was sentenced in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s court on January 25.

Dlamini was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
