Woman shot dead

Anyone who is able to assist in the investigation is to contact the police.

A 46-year-old woman was shot dead in her home in Umzinto recently.

A concerned neighbour at a residential block noticed that her neighbour’s gate and door had been left open on the evening of January 11,

“It seemed strange to her that the gate was open because it was always closed and locked,” explained Scottburgh communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

“The woman peeked into the house from the doorway and found her neighbour slumped on a sofa.”

Paramedics arrived at the scene and certified the 46-year-old neighbour dead.

It was discovered that she had been shot.

A case of murder is being investigated by Umzinto Saps and police ask informants to contact Detective Warrant Officer Steyn Moonsamy of Umzinto Detective Service on 039 974 6500 to assist with the investigation.
