Man found dead in Uvongo

The man was found with a gunshot wound in the mouth.

Police have opened an inquest docket after a 27-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound to the mouth.

Lieutenant Colonel Nobile Gwala confirmed the incident occurred in Uvongo last Saturday.

“The inquest was opened at Margate police station. The circumstances surrounding the incident is being investigated.”

No arrests have been made. According to information received the man is a police officer based at Margate police station. It is believed that there had been a vehicle accident prior to the shooting.
