Creativity comes naturally to Nonhle Maboee, a jewellery designer and manufacturer by profession who qualified at the University of Johannesburg.
And, she has turned her phenomenal skill into designing unique earrings for every occasion. Whether it’s for the office, a luncheon date, an evening out with friends, or an elegant event, a stunning pair of earrings from Nonhle is a must.

“Our aim is to colour you happy,” she said.
The young entrepreneur, wife and mother of two started her business, Jewelseed in 2019, and it has grown in leaps and bounds.
Jewelseed is a creative studio that loves to learn, collaborate, and design. “At Jewelseed we truly believe in the transformative power of design through considered pieces and its ability to elevate experiences, engage and inspire people everywhere.”
She does it all, from concept to design, using everyday experiences and items as inspiration.
Nonhle describes herself as a DIY person, and once an idea takes root, it’s quickly turned into a beautiful piece that any woman would be proud to add to her jewellery collection.
Over time, she has worked with various raw materials and nowadays uses polymer clay as a base. The variety of designs and colour palette will suit all fashionistas, whether they prefer bold or subtle colours.
Nonhle has had an amazing reaction to her earrings, which is affordable, and should be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe.
She also designs and manufactures engagement rings, wedding bands and other pieces. She can also turn old jewellery into a modern piece, and provides a polishing service too.
The cow is symbolic in Nonhle’s business, as it’s a tribute to her father Lethu (JJ) Mzobe who influenced her love for cows. “They’re a constant reminder of where we come from and where we’re headed.”
Her father also influenced her to take her creativeness into business as she watched him run his own spaza shop from their garage while also being a teacher.
Nonhle has strong roots on the South Coast, she grew up in Gamalakhe and Margate, schooled locally and pursued tertiary studies in Durban.
She left the coast, and settled in Johannesburg for a number of years before coming full circle, and has once again settled here to raise her family and grow her business.
