No bail for paedophile

His case was postponed to June 27 and he remains in police custody.

Brett Allen Steven (51), who appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court last Friday on two counts of sexual assault on minors, will remain in police custody.

His case was postponed to June 27.

He was arrested in Betania three weeks ago after two boys, aged 11 and 13, were allegedly manipulated into performing sexual acts.

He was nabbed after his cellphone had been stolen from his home in Betania, and it is alleged that the thieves had viewed images or recordings and had alerted the public, who then alerted the police.

Brett has been convicted and sentenced on three previous occasions.
