Roadshow shares info on SONA

The IEC shared information on voter registration, online registration and voting.

The Government Communications and Information System (GCIS) partnered with Umdoni Operation Sukumasakhe Local Task Team, to inform the community about the State of the Nation Address (SONA), connectivity and broadband challenges, voter registration, gender-based violence and femicide in Dududu, near Scottburgh on Tuesday this week.
According to the assistant director and regional communications coordinator for GCIS, Khanyiso Seyisi, Sassa, Vodacom South Africa, Zomnotho Community Development and the IEC were also part of the drive.
GCIS shared content on SONA which took place on February 8 and why it matters.
The Department of Social Development and Sassa shared information on social grants applications and its administration, and assisted community members.
The IEC provided clarity on voter registration, online registration and voting.
Sindizwa Msomi of Dududu location changed voting stations as she was previously registered at Umzinto, but she now resides permanently in Dududu.
Non-governmental organisation, Zomontho Community Development talked about gender-based violence and femicide, teenage pregnancy and other social ills, and shared information via leaflets.
Government officials and social partners also handled questions, one-on-one engagements and managed to address challenges on all matters raised. Some matters were attended to, some were referred to the nearest offices and toll-free lines.
