Team Ntencane which was representing KZN on Mzansi Magic’s Clash of the Choirs SA season 4 recently won the music competition.
One of the members of the winning team, Aphendulwa Nyezi is originally from Harding.

Team Ntencane won after an incredible winning streak from the choir and their choirmaster: they had enjoyed a hat-trick of wins before taking home the grand prize as the top choir of the season – which comes with a R1-million prize.

Taking to social media, the former Marburg Secondary pupil (Nyezi) said: “Great thanks to everyone who voted for us and saw us worthy of this moment.”
Unlike in the early stages of the competition, the ultimate Clash of the Choirs SA winner was decided by viewer votes.
Additionally, a charity chosen by the winning choir will be gifted an incredible R250 000 donation.

Team KZN chose the Ntenga Foundation, whose focus is on youth, water, sanitation, and entrepreneurship.
Team Ntencane had a season that saw them breathe new creativity and life into various genres, from hip-hop, mbaqanga and gospel, to R&B, pop and kwaito.
For their final performance, they paid tribute to the Zulu kingdom, later closing with an uplifting gospel medley.
Director of local entertainment channels at M-Net Shirley Adonisi said: “We congratulate Team Ntencane and KwaZulu-Natal on this win. They – along with every choir and choirmaster who took part in this season – reminded us of the impressive creativity our artists possess. It was a pleasure to watch them perform incredible renditions of local songs every week.”

She added: “It has been an exciting season of Clash of the Choirs SA, one that allowed us to show the depth and breadth of raw, true talent we have throughout the country, ready to shine onstage given the opportunity. We hope some new musical careers can bloom going forward.”
Despite missing out on the final prize, Team Vusi Nova had an incredible run in the competition.
They had been eliminated earlier in the season, only to later make a dramatic comeback, making it to the finale.
