Sheppie High soccer boys on target

Learners have been busy during the holidays in various sporting codes.

Sheppie High’s first team soccer boys enjoyed success during the recent holidays when they won the plate division at the Kearsney College Soccer Festival.

This success follows on from their excellent showing in the U19 KZN Coastal Football League where the team achieved second place.

The school is also extremely proud of volleyball players Syon Luckraj (U14 boys) and Maesha Chetty (U14 girls), who represented KwaZulu-Natal at a national volleyball tournament held in Johannesburg. Nadene Sholayan accompanied the U14 girls’ team as the team manager.

Syon Luckraj, Nadine Sholayan (manager) and Maesha Chetty attended a national volleyball tournament held in the holidays.

Grade 10 learner, Oliver Delport, represented the province in the South African Duathlon Championships held at Midmar Dam during the holiday.

He achieved an impressive time of 1:01:24 for the champs which consisted of a 5km run, 20km cycle and 2.5km run, and was placed fourth overall.

The school extends condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Maliphi Immaculate Mkhize, who died suddenly during the holiday.
Maliphi was a much-valued member of the school’s Support Staff and will be sorely missed.
