Tuning In: Can the weather make up its mind, please!

A request has been received for items for Christmas shoeboxes which go to Alex Park, Amcup, together with some pensioners and needy children. Contact Rix Windell on 072 1108988.

Items required include toothpaste, toothbrushes, hand cream, soap, facecloths, roll-on deodorant, sweets, biscuits, socks for men.
The same items are needed for children, if they are older than 10, together with a new item of clothing and something to use at school.
Smaller children get a toy and a piece of clothing and something for school. Community members can put anything into the shoebox eg chips, etc.

Here’s some important information for beach walkers – if you come across a stranded seal, you can help by knowing what to do and who to call.
What to do: call the authorities, set up a 5m perimeter to keep onlookers and dogs away. Gather information. Stay with the seal.
What not to do: chase the seal back into the sea, touch, feed or handle the seal in any way.
