New graders, tipper trucks for RNM

If the roads are walkable, the economic situation will improve and investors will be motivated to bring their businesses into the area.

The mayor of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality (RNM), Cllr Sikhumbuzo Mqadi together with members of the executive committee recently handed over two graders, and two tipper trucks which will be used for the upgrading of roads in various areas in the municipality, to the Technical Services Portfolio Committee.

The mayor had promised the purchase of the vehicles during his presentation of the 2022/23 budget.
The mayor said the grader purchase is not the last for RNM, and that the municipality will purchase more in the years to come.

“Having walkable roads is a priority for us as RNM. If the roads are in a better condition, the economic situation will improve and investors will have the motivation to bring their businesses into our area,” said Mqadi.
Welcoming the fleet, Cllr Lindiwe Ntanza, said that technical services is very happy about the graders. “It will make our work easier. The fact that the graders belong to the municipality and is not leased is even better. There will be no conditions attached to it, as when it’s is leased.”
