Animal rescue organisation needs public’s assistance

Donations are needed for the rescue to continue its work with animals.

The mid-South Coast’s 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue is seen as a beacon of hope for the many dogs and cats in the area which desperately need love and attention.

In order for the rescue organisation to continue doing its charitable work with these animals in 2023, public assistance is needed.

“We are really struggling currently and the charity shop is running out of items to sell to fundraise to help care for dumped, abused dogs that are fostered, require medical treatment, and to feed dogs and cats in areas of need,” explained Nicky Koekemoer of 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue.

“Those willing to help can buy thrift items from the shop or donate previously loved items in good condition to the shop to sell.”
People looking for a furry companion are also notified of the many dogs and cats available at the for adoption or to be fostered.

For those who are unable to adopt a pet, but would like to donate towards animal care, there is an option of donating much needed items such dry food and tins of dog and cat food, blankets, old towels, linen and kennels which make for a much more comfortable sleeping area and provide shelter on sunny and rainy days for stray and township dogs. Tick and flea medication is also needed.

The rescue is currently raising funds for costs related to a stray dog’s eye surgery. The dog was seen roaming around Scottburgh south for a while with a very badly injured eye which has now been removed.

The rescue’s charity shop opening times are 09:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday and 09:00 to 12:00 every Saturday where people can support the shop by purchasing or donating goods.
