NGOs plan for success at workshop

All aspects of running an NGO was covered.

Non-governmental organisations recently held a four-day workshop under the heading ‘NGO Planning for Success’ with the help and support of the Amandawe Community Care Centre.

Umkomaas Methodist Church was used as a central venue which was greatly appreciated by all.

The course covered all aspects of writing a business plan and the financial and legal aspects of running an NGO.

Focus was placed on empowering the NGOs to take ownership of their own sustainable development. The NGOs attending were from the Amandawe Community Care and Development Centre, Emzini Arts of Amandawe, Hallelujah Community Services of Ilfracombe, Sinikezelimpilo Care Centre of Amahlongwa, Siyanqoba Community Support Group of Mkhunya and the Ugu Umdoni Community Project at Dududu.

At a certificate handover ceremony, Petros Shinga of Amandawe presented small tokens of appreciation to Di Pretorius of the Methodist Church and Neil McDonald – CEO of Khanya Hospice for all their help and support.
