Emergency services responded to an early morning collision on the N2 near Mtwalume.
Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service spokesman, Craig Botha said when emergency services arrived they found that two trucks and a bakkie had been involved in a collision.
“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one patient suffered serious injuries and was trapped in a truck. A further two patients had sustained serious injuries.”
Together with Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Fire and Rescue services the trapped patient was stabilised and removed from the truck using specialised rescue equipment.
The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment. Police will investigate the cause of the accident.
