Collision on N2 near Boboyi leaves one person dead

Rescue services had to extricate a trapped patient using specialised rescue equipment.

One person died in a collision on the N2 Boboyi yesterday evening (Sunday, July 17).

Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service said that when emergency services arrived they found that two vehicles had been involved in a collision.

Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that a person had sustained critical injuries and was trapped in a vehicle, while two others had sustained serious injuries.

Together with members from the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Fire and Rescue Services, paramedics managed to stabilise the patients, and extricate the trapped patient using specialised rescue equipment.

“One person sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to injuries before emergency services arrived,” said Craig.
