Water tanker driver killed in crash

Municipality confirmed water tanker was not part of the district's fleet.

A water tanker that overturned on the P200 near Izotsha last Saturday, claimed the life of the driver, Brian Mandla Msizi (37).

Police spokesperson Captain Adam Francis said Port Shepstone Saps has opened a case of culpable homicide after Misizi allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch on the P200 at about 18:00.

“He was trapped in the truck and was declared dead by paramedics on the scene. The cause of the accident is being investigated.”

Meanwhile Ugu District Municipality confirmed that the water tanker involved in the crash was not part of the district’s fleet.
