Ramsgate Conservancy had its annual general meeting last Sunday.
It was followed by a tribute to Dave Halle, the former chairman, a custodian of the environment on the South Coast who died recently.
The popular Ramsgate Whale Deck was greeted by a lovely full moon.
The committee has many plans for the future and has also created a new Facebook page, and two WhatsApp groups for sharing information of fauna and flora.
The elected committee members are Ross Douthwaite (Chairman), Adrian Gaze (Treasurer), Sally Brooker (Secretary), Philip de Jager, Carla Steenkamp, Scott Kvalsvig, Jamie Caple, Cassi Volkwyn and Paddy Norman.
