Mpenjati ‘walk and talk’ this Saturday

Come along and find out all there is to know about the dune systems and the diverse organisms living among them.

An interesting walk and talk will focus on the dunes and coastal birdlife of the Trafalgar Marine Reserve this Saturday (7th) from 10:00 to 11:00.

Mpenjati Conservancy and Mpenjati Honorary Officers Group will be hosting the event, led by guides, Dr. Yvette Ehlers Smith and her husband David Ehlers.

Everyone is asked to meet at the Trafalgar Marine Reserve North Bank at the Mpenjati Nature Reserve.

Dr. Yvette Ehlers Smith.

Come along and find out all there is to know about the dune systems and the diverse organisms living among them.

Dr Ehlers Smith is the district ecologist for Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and Mr Ehlers is a research fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

They will also be looking into the fauna and flora of the estuary and the shore birds that depend on these habitats.

The walk itself will be a gentle stroll and not too demanding, so suitable for most.

Don’t forget sun protection and your camera. Entrance is R15 for adults, R10 for children. Any donations towards reserve projects are most welcome.
