After the accident, the suspects fled the scene leaving the injured occupants in the vehicle.

A collision on the R61 between Port Edward and Bizana left two people injured last night.

When emergency services arrived they found that a vehicle had lost control and left the road.

Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service  said paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one patient had sustained serious injuries and another patient minor injuries.

The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital.

Botha said according to the occupants from the car, they had been allegedly hijacked by four armed suspects near Port Shepstone, and were being driven towards Bizana when the suspects lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

The suspects fled the scene leaving the injured occupants in the vehicle.
